Yesterday we went to the Neon Boneyard, which is where many of the old and vintage Las Vegas neon signs go to die. It was amazing! You have a guided tour, and our guide Ian was full of so many interesting Vegas tales connected to each sign. Money, the mob, famous stars.....everything Vegas was built on!
The oldest sign they own (and they are a non-profit organisation) is one from the 1930s, for a restaurant owned by a woman. Amazingly, we also discovered that the 'Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas' sign was designed by a woman, who gifted the design to the state that she loved.
Such a poser!! He he.
This is my favourite picture I took there I think.....you may well see it on the wall of Rockalily Cuts some time!
If you are in Vegas, you must plan a trip! You must pre-book online, and you'll get a short taxi ride to the boneyard (it is up near Fremont Street).
