Beautiful and Damned - an awesome documentary about the 1920s

Here is the link to the first section of an ace documentary from BBC four (from a couple of years back) which I have recently enjoyed.

The blurb from the BBC is:

"The story of 1920s London's Bright Young People is a tale of sex, drink, drugs and a gossip-hungry press. Beautiful and Damned traces the growth of 1920s London's bright young party set whose antics were enjoyed and scorned in equal measures by a watching nation. And the more artistic of the merry band - Cecil Beaton, Evelyn Waugh and Nancy Mitford among them - saw their work make the characters and attitudes of the era both legend and fable."

What an incredible period of time to be rich and young - a bright young person. Their treasure hunts around London sound insane!

Vintage Clothing Labels

I've always been a fan of fonts, and vintage clothing labels always seem to use font perfectly. Sometimes I'm sad I can't buy the item, because I'd so love to own the labels inside.

Do you have any vintage clothes with perfectly fabulous labels inside? I'd love to see them!

Rockalily Style - 1960s inspired Ree

Apologies for the shoddy photo for my outfit picture, but its the best I can do!

I'm very 1960s inspired today, I have a bright yellow sheer top (its almost see-through at the back) which is from Warehouse (via a charity shop) with my Freddies jeans.

I have a beehive for my hair, and I'm yet to decide on shoes!

At the last minute I added a matching bandana.

I am always a fan of matching colours, for a 'polished' look. Yesterday I matched in red!

Vintage Grafitti

At Mother Rockette's house there are a few quirky things that warm my heart. This vintage grafitti is from 1926 and Fred, Betty and Violet scratched their names into the bricks in the garden.

It can't just be me who love thinking back to young people behaving in the same ways as young people do today. I hope Fred, Betty and Violet loved the house as much as my mother does.

Rockalily Cuts Vintage Hair Wokshops in Suitcase Magazine

I missed it at the time, but the vintage hair classes that me and Pip hold at Rockalily Cuts were featured as an ideal Mothers' Day gift in Suitcase Magazine last month.

The next workshop is on April 30th, so let me know if you fancy booking in!
