Rockabilly Style - Rockabilly Girl

I'm off out tonight, so a second outfit post for the day! Now I have my new camera at home I have no excuses for using crappy Instagram pictures here!

So I'm wearing a cheap highstreet outfit - a primark skirt from a charity shop, and a primark top (new).

I feel a little naked with no straps but the sunshine has peeked out so I'm trying to encourage it to stay out!

I'm a pretty classic rockabilly girl in this outfit - stripes, nautical colours, pencil skirt, polka dots, victory rolls and tattoos.

Rockalily Style: Classic Rockabilly Girl

I'm dressed a lot more like a stereotypical rockabilly girl today, I don't tend to wear tattoo print, but the jumper was £1 and its fab for work.

So its a short sleeved jumper, with cropped jeans, and gold wedge sandles.

Alternative, Rockabilly and gender neutral pushchairs

I was buggy shopping today, and was not surprisingly a little frustrated at how gendered the options of prams were. The majority were pink or blue. and even I as someone who hates gendered colouring for children would struggle to buy a baby boy a pink stroller, so I decided to have a google about.

Is it just a fact that most parents want a blue or pink pram?

So if you want an alternative pram,or a less obviously gendered colourway, you could test drive some of these buggies.

This green pear buggy is one of my favourites. Cute, but yet pretty gender neutral.

The bow on this nautical buggy may put some off for baby boys, but I'm not sure it should! This one has a rockabilly twang but it doesn't come cheap!

This is a little more basic, and the smiley faces come with a smaller price tag too.

This buggy design is more much modern, but definitely gender neutral!

This Cath Kidston pram is flowery but blue......would you be happy putting your new son in a flowery pram? Should it even be a question?

Are skulls more 'male'? Would you buy this for your baby girl?

Cats on your pushchair?

Is the ultimate rockabilly baby accessory a leopard print pram? It's pretty gnder neutral at least!

Trashobilly is our new religion ;-)

So, me and my pal Banbury Cross were sharing our new obsession for the style trashobilly. My new penchant for big gold hoop earring and varsity jackets, and how I felt I looked my best in Vegas are definitely signs of my new style inspiration.

Me and Banbury decided that Gwen Stefani may have to be our new goddess of style, and I decided to have a little google images fun.

I love how she mixes rockabilly elements (the victory rolls and pin up make up) with modern trashy hints of rock n roll.

This is expensive trashobilly, just to prove it can be done with a classy take too.

A more casual trashobilly look, which of course is helped by the the beautiful fit body she has!

I'm a fan of bright colours, and this trashobilly look is heavily influence by ska. It was also back when thongs poking over your trousers was 'in'. Yup, I did it too. He he.

I also love Christina Aguilera's trashobilly style.

I think she looks pretty darn ace here. It makes me want to attempt to wear pale lipstick;-)

Back when this video came out, I dreamt about looking like her. I didn't begin to attempt it, due to not having the confidence, but I still return to the video and get inspired. My friends used to hate that I loved this look!

Again, I love bright colours, and here she clashes them perfectly!

Christina does classy trashobilly too. Here she just uses her heavy eye makeup to nod to her trashy style. I haven't mastered this look yet, but would love to!

Finally, I also love Kat Von D's trashobilly looks.

Casual trashobilly, with just a plain black top and letting her skin do the talking.

Kat mixes a more punkobilly look, and I wouldn't want to that far, but I definitely like a lot of the elements of her style.

I think the trick that Kat masters is having super pretty make-up to make the whole look still look feminine.

So, how are me and Banbury attempting to trashobilly our looks a bit more? Here she is, with Lydia de Carlo, both rocking trashobilly to the max!

And here are some of my attempts!

Sticking with fruity necklaces, how about this watermelon, from Trashy Doll for £6.50
