Treasure Trails: The Royal Wedding

Recently I did a Treasure Trail around Fitzrovia, and Treasure Trails asked me to trial one of their new routes; The Royal Wedding Treasure Hunt!

I went with Mother Rockette, so no boozy lunch like last time! The weather wasn't great, but it was dry so that was fine.

We started in St James Tube Station, which was a beautiful art deco little station I had never visited before.

And off we went! Mother Rockette was excited to visit Caxton Hall, so I did a quick pose for a picture outside the doors.

The treasure hunt is a map (which you download or buy) and you have a series of clues to follow around an area of London.

The clues aren't knowledge based, it is basically an adult version of I-Spy. Your answers may be on buildings, the floor, lamp posts or any other permanent structures!

The first trail I did was about an hour long, while this one was longer, at about 3 hours.

I enjoyed finding a Suffragette monument which I didn't know existed, as well as a Women of World War II memorial in White Hall. Nice to discover these new things in the city I love!

The horses in the middle of a photoshoot also perked up my day - they looked so regal!

Oh and when I got home I had a facebook message from a lovely girl who reckoned she had spotted me in town doing the treasure hunt! We were both at the memorial together and she recognised me from online!

Rockalily Style: Busy Day

A busy day with not too much time to think about what I'm wearing!

Skinny jeans - Primark

Black body - It was cheap from Tesco I think. I have a couple of them as bodies are great for outfits which need a tucked in top.

Red Bandana - as normal!

Pink Leopard Print Belt - Betsy Johnson.

Gold Wedges - Clarks.

Muffin my cat is modeling in the background!

Rockalily Style: Hungover and Lots of Royal Walking

I hate this picture, but wanted to show that I have off-style days! This morning I am hungover and am going on a second treasure hunt  (oddly wearing the same cardigan I wore last time!). So I need to do lots of walking.

* My usual bandana and vintage glasses.

* Flamingo cardigan, which I think was Dorothy Perkins ages ago.

* Blue and white checked shirt, which was a charity shop find but is high street (perhaps New Look).

* Belt is pink leopard print plastic and is Betsy Johnson

* Skinny jeans are Primark.

*Pop Art Converse which were a gift from France.

Rockalily Style: Mothers' Day and Bettie Page

So, I am off to Mother Rockette's for a Sunday lunch for Mothers' Day as well as my Step Dad's birthday.

This wasn't actually my first choice of dress, but sadly a few of my lovely vintage dresses are currently too big for me. So this is a second choice!

I am wearing a Bettie Page dress which I bought while at Viva Las Vegas in Las Vegas last year. Apologies that it is a little creased!

I am also wearing my Vegas gold wedges, although I bought them for the trip, rather than on the trip. They were from Clarks, who do loads of great shoes now.

Mother Rockette is getting this awesome little poodle head for Mothers' Day. I had originally bought it as a Christmas present for her, but as I bought her an vintage art deco watch, his first outing had been postponed until now.

Rockalily Style: Leopard Print Again!

Today I'm rocking a bit of leopard print, and considering I'm also wearing a bandana I'm pretty cookie-cutter Rockabilly!

* Bandana - I do think I own one is every colour! Some people don't like being matchy, but I like it!

* Glasses - Vintage glasses that were bought as a present.

* Lipstick - Rockalily Rockette Red

* Leopard Print Dress - I bought his years ago on ebay, it was one of my first more 'alternative' dresses, and I used to wear it teaching a lot.I think its Dorothy Perkins.

* Black T-shirt - Probably Primark!

* Green Belt - Again an old Primark purchase from my teaching days.

* Petticoat - This is a vintage original that my lovely friend Liz bought me from a market. I like wearing petticoats not only for the shape but so that my modesty is safe in the wind!

*Ballet Pumps - this are patent leather and from Clarks. I have quite bad back 'issues' and if I know I'm going to be out and about all day I have to wear flats.
