How I apply my Rockabilly Eyeliner and Rockalily Lipstick

I get asked quite a lot about how I apply my make-up, so I thought I'd post about it again. Firstly, I am no make-up artist and make no claims about the quality of my application. However, I wear the same make-up every day, and love how it transforms my face. I hope that perhaps by showing my less-than-perfect make-up application I may give less-confident people to give rockabilly make-up a go!

So, this is a a tutorial for a classic rockabilly eye, almost bordering on an Amy Winehouse look I suppose. It is how I look 90% of the time, although the thickness of my eyeliner varies.

Here is my natural face this morning (I have already applied foundation and bronzer).

I start with using Mac LiquidLast just near the eyelashes. I work from the the outside to the middle, and then from the inner to the middle. I don't do one long line, but smaller strokes, which means you don't have to be so precise.

I then draw a flick up. You can see here it isn't very precise, and sometimes its shorter, or at a different angle.

I then draw a triangle shape into the middle of my eyeline.

I then fill the triangle space in.

I grew up blonde (who knows what my natural hair colour is now!) but it means my eyebrows are very light for my black hair. I think a big part of the classic rockabilly look is a heavy and shaped eye brow.

I have used a basic black eyeliner for my brow, and I have left one side naked, so you can see how heavy I wear it. As a final touch I add a nude powder, today I have used a Dior eyeshadow I have in a palette.

Here I am, with both sides done now, all ready for the finishing touch of red lipstick!

Today I'm wearing Rockalily Roulette Red, and I don't use a brush or a liner. I use the point of the lipstick to apply direct to my lip.

I start in the middle, in my cupid bow, and apply down.

Then I do the other side! (No photo editing on this photo)

I then apply on the bottom lip, and rub my two lips together. If I have gone over my lipline I just use my fingers to touch up, before I'm good to go!
