I have been sent some Diva Pro products from Salons Direct (trade only) to review, and here is the first! I decided to try the Diva Pro Session Instant Heat Waver myself. Although I'm a salon owner, I'm not a hairdresser, and so I'm reviewing these as a non-hairdresser. I can style my hair well, but don't tend to use heated appliances myself.
So the first thing I did was check a youtube tutorial!
They heated up super fast, and have a screen that you can select the heat, and see how hot they are. To hold they have a nice soft touch.
It's basically a crimper for beach/mermaid waves I guess!
I brushed them out slightly with a soft brush and my fingers. I added some serum to smooth it too.
It isn't a look I generally go for, it's pretty modern for me, but I actually quite like it, for a relaxed hair do. It gives the hair some shape, yes, pretty reminiscent of the 1980s, but I don't hate it. Lucie, my head stylist isn't so keen, but then she's a vintage hair dresser! I plan to use it with my stylists to practice with some more vintage waves next, so watch this space!
Have you ever used a waver before? For beach waves or a 20s inspired set?
This was only my first time, so will be using them again and will let you know how I get on! My stylists will also be using them for a review over on the Salons Direct blog, as a hairdressers tool.
