I was lucky enough to be surprised with a lovely hotel stay, so I started by getting my hair in order! On the left is my weave/hair, which hadn't been washed for about 9 days. It got a good wash, and styled, ready for the evening ahead.
I'd been looking forward to using the hotel's bath all day (it was crazy hot, and I'd dressed somewhat inappropriately for the unexpected sunshine).
A cute marketing touch is the Apex rubber duck, which you're told to take home and then take a photo of it in an interesting place (with hotel hashtag). Great social media marketing idea! The bath was so deep! Fabulous.
Sometimes its the small things that excite me, and getting an espresso martini delivered by room service definitely gave me joy. I can almost imagine the poor wait staff carrying it precariously all the way round the hotel.
I changed into a Collectif dress (use REE10 for a cheeky discount), and heels from Nine West. They're super comfy if you won't have tons of walking to do. I only wear them if I know I don't need to get public transport. Wearing heels really affects my back in the days following an outing, so I don't do it often.
I stayed at Apex City of London Hotel, in a Delux Double Room. It was a gorgeous hotel, and the room's facilities were lovely. I had breakfast (via room service) and my scrambled eggs were delicious. I think the only downside was the noise. I think the room was near all of the pipes, so there was a constant noise, actually pretty loud and definitely constant. I imagine if you were a light sleeper this would have made your stay pretty miserable. The later check out time of 12pm was definitely appreciated, a nice touch.
